Information the application processes
Photo Organizer may process the following information on the user’s Mac:
- Lightroom Classic catalogue inventory information supplied by the user or the Photo Organizer Lightroom plug-in, including folder paths, filenames, capture dates, Pick status and available metadata.
- Photographs and metadata in folders explicitly selected by the user, including the configured Lightroom Output staging folder.
- Google Photos album inventory files and irreversible thumbnail fingerprints supplied by the user’s browser extension.
- Optional photo coordinates and Google Maps Timeline data imported by the user for local event and location analysis.
- User decisions, proposed album mappings and upload progress.
Google user data
Photo Organizer uses Google OAuth 2.0 and requests only https://www.googleapis.com/auth/photoslibrary.appendonly.
This permission is used to create a new Google Photos album after explicit user approval, upload photographs the user reviewed and selected from the configured Lightroom Output folder, and create those uploaded media items inside the newly created album.
The permission does not allow Photo Organizer to enumerate, edit or delete the remainder of the user’s Google Photos library. Photo Organizer does not use Google user data for advertising, profiling or sale.
Photo Organizer’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Storage and security
- The Google OAuth client ID is stored in the application’s local macOS preferences.
- Google access and refresh tokens are stored in the user’s macOS Keychain.
- Lightroom reconciliation data, location information and upload checkpoints are stored locally on the user’s Mac unless the user separately enables an optional encrypted sync service.
- Upload checkpoints contain the minimum information needed to resume the user-approved operation.
- Photo Organizer does not send Lightroom catalogue information, location history or local image-analysis data to Google as part of OAuth authorization.
Data retention and deletion
Local inventory, decisions and upload checkpoints remain on the user’s Mac until the user removes them or resets the application’s data. Completed Google Photos uploads remain in the user’s Google Photos account under Google’s own retention controls.
Disconnecting Google Photos in Photo Organizer removes the locally stored Google OAuth session from macOS Keychain. The user can also revoke Google-side access from the Google Account connections page. Disconnecting or revoking access does not automatically delete albums or photographs already uploaded to Google Photos.
User choices
The user controls which local sources are scanned, which Lightroom folders are selected, which files are uploaded and the name of every newly created Google Photos album. Photo Organizer does not initiate a direct Google Photos upload without review and explicit confirmation.
Children’s privacy
Photo Organizer is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information as an online service.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Photo Organizer’s data practices change. The effective date will be revised, and the current policy will remain publicly available at this URL.
